Master bedroom – a total redo

I think I got it right this time!

The master bedroom has new windows and baseboard around the wall. The crown piece is a lovely solid wood sleigh bed.  The bedroom has an antique wood wardrobe for hanging clothes which also has drawers to provide extra storage.

This room presently does not have a door. The original door awaits the return of the contractor… about mid December …and the plan is to install sliding barn door hardware…which  will be used to hang the door and that will make the bedroom closeable.

When men are renting the cabin, the bed boasts a camo comforter and deer motif pillows.

But for a more feminine antique look, an off-white quilt with tan trim is used on the bed. The throw pillows are always changing.

I have plans for a Christmas themed bed complete with red flannel Buffalo checked sheets and Santa pillows.

The ceiling has a (hidden) treasure – original shiplap – which,  for now, is covered with paper insulated tiles.  And the floor is covered with carpet which presently hides lovely wood planks.  There are PLANS to remove the ceiling tiles and the carpet on the floor … probably a year away. But until then, it is still very cozy and comfortable.
